Term 1Desconectate  
Discussing holidays and weather. Saying what you do in summer. Talking about holiday. Saying what you did on holiday. Describing where you stayed. Travel and tourist transactions: Booking accommodation and dealing with problems. Giving an account of a holiday in the past. What will be covered in the unit? -Revision of present and preterite tenses. Using the present tense. •regular -ar/-er/-ir verbs. •ser. Using verbs of opinion to refer to different people. •gustar type verbs with all 6 pronouns. Using the preterite tense. •regular -ar/-er/-ir verbs. •ser/ir. Using the imperfect tense. •estar/tener. •era/había. Negatives: no, ni … ni, tampoco. Using verbs with usted. Using three tenses together (present, preterite, imperfect). Skills: Using different structures to give opinions. Working out the meaning of new words. Using questions to form answers.

What school is like: Giving opinions about school subjects. Describing school uniform. Describing the school day. Talking about subjects and teachers/Describing your school. Talking about school rules and problems. Talking about plans for a school exchange. Talking about activities and achievements. What will be covered in the unit? Interesar/Adjectival endings. Using comparatives and superlatives. Using negatives: nada, nadie, ni … ni, ningún, nunca, tampoco. Revision of imperfect and present titive:tener que, hay que, se debe, está prohibido, no se permite. Using the near future tense. Desde hace + present tense. Using direct object pronouns. Skills: Comparing then and now/Decoding unfamiliar language/Asking and answering questions

Term 3Mi gente (Higher course)   
Theme: Identity and culture. Students will be learning to discuss about family and socialising, describing people, talking about social networks, making arrangements, reading preferences and talking about friends and family. Key grammar points: using verbs in present tense, using adjectival agreement, using "para + infinitive", using the present continuous (new tense), using a range of connectives, using accurately " ser and estar". Skills: Extending responses by referring to others, improvising dialogues, recognising similar ideas expressed differently and understanding more detailed descriptions.

Adopting a model dialogue to fit different situations. Grammar: Using stem changing verbs. Definite and indefinite articles. Using adjectives and nationality. Using soler + infinitive. Using todavia + imperfect. Using ya and todavia with the perfect tense. Using imperfect, preterite and perfect tenses. Using all tenses together.

Using the future tense. Si + preset + future. Using demonstrative adjectives. Using tan and tanto. Using conditional. Using different tenses together.
